The sun has fallen on day 1, but we're still rockin'

There is a flower market in Hong Kong that spans about 4 square city blocks. This particular orchid cost $1,000 USD. Add that to my Christmas list.

The bird market is closeby. We're not exactly sure why birds are sold all the time in a market, but we think they are common pets. This bird reminded me of my dad's old bird Jerry.

Hong Kong is home to the most densely populated district in the world, Mong Kok. There are 135,000 people per square kilometer. Walking through seas of people is an experience. Everyone is fairly bright-spirited, though...definitely a better vibe than NYC I'd have to say.

The orchids in the flower market are pretty darn amazing. Johnna caught a particularly beautiful pic of this one.

We are checked into our hotel. Seems nice enough. Good central location...a bed...air conditioning...view of the harbour.

Warning that we've had plenty of free internet today and are feeling a little sluggish...thus the multiple posts. Go us for getting off to a strong start.

We heard the international news that Osama Bin Laden was killed today. I would insert a tactful and witty comment about how odd it is that we return killing with killing, but I'm a little jetlagged.

Much love,

Josh (Johnna is watching me type)
