Joshua has been typing our posts thus far...I think it's my turn. : )
Day 2! After an awesome breakfast of congee, pickled veggies and Chinese-style dumplings (so tasty!), we're off for the day. The plan: Dim Sum with my boss and colleagues for lunch and then a trip to Hong Kong park (one of my favorite places), followed by the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. I can already tell that one of the best parts of this trip is going to be the fact that Joshua and I like to do similar things...no shopping, no fancy dinners, no getting caught in the myriad tourist traps...just the awesome local sights, cheap and amazing meals and some quality time wandering around the city semi-aimlessly.
I am definitely enjoying playing "tour guide". Joshua is the first person that I've really had the chance to show around. It's been fun to hear his commentary along the way...I've gotten so used to how I perceive the city and to certain cultural norms feeling 'normal' to me that it's fun to hear his untainted analyses.
Many thanks to everyone who has read and/or commented...we're having fun knowing that you all are traveling 'with' us.
Much love,
Johnna
